In the final processing stage the cast mould is ready for the “delivery” of the matrix die. It is placed in a tub of water at a temperature of 45°C and left to cool and harden.
This allows us to check for any warping present.
The mould is washed using a diaphragm pump which, when connected to the mould, injects air and water in a sequential manner in order to wash the mould and open the pores needed for High-Pressure processing. As the washing cycles pass it is clear that with the reduction in foam comes an increase in porosity.
